PROJECT DETAILS:
The City of Hanford has allocated American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding for the Downtown Traffic and Pedestrian Improvements Project. The required project improvements include curb and gutters; sidewalks; ADA ramps; road reconstruction to provide structural sections along with adjusting profile grades; constructing one roundabout; streetscape improvements which will include landscaping, street furniture, and other decorative features; upgrade of existing storm drainage systems; removal of traffic signals; constructing bulb-outs; along with signage and other improvements necessary to achieve full project completion The project will also include a re-design of the existing storm drainage system and improvements and the necessary improvements.
THIS PROJECT WILL TAKE PLACE AT FOUR LOCATIONS WITHIN THE CITY, WHICH ARE:
Douty and Seventh Street
(roundabout)
Douty Street at the corners of Seventh Street, Sixth Street & Eight Street
(“road diet” & angled parking)
Douty Street, from Sixth Street to Eighth Street and Douty to Irwin on Seventh Street
(streetscape improvements)
Seventh Street & Irwin, & Seventh Street & Douty
(traffic signals removal, bulb-outs, four-way stops)
