2009 Cape/Slurry Seal & Overlay of Various Norwalk Streets
OE provided inspection services on this project for the City of Norwalk. The scope of work included overlay with curb and gutter repairs for local streets and an arterial highway, the removal of parkway trees, grinding tree stumps and re-grading parkways. The project called for the removal and replacement of damaged curb and gutters; cross gutters and sidewalk ramps as well as installation of new ADA ramps. Thus, sixty (60) streets received either a Polymer Cape Seal or a Type II Slurry Seal. The roadway rehabilitation required adjusting all sewer and storm drain manholes; re-establishing all survey monuments; and re-striping all damaged or eradicated striping. The project also entailed the placement of an overlay on Leffingwell Street between Longworth and McRae. As a result, coordinating with Norwalk High School was essential, since it is located along that section of the street. In addition to the typical inspection duties, our staff coordinated daily with the City and school personnel, trash collectors, emergency personnel, and postal delivery staff; and with home owners especially during tree removal.
