166th Pavement Rehabilitation Project
OE provided construction management and inspection services to the City of Norwalk for this locally-funded project. The project spanned the west city limits at Elmcroft Avenue and extended to Norwalk Boulevard. Rehabilitation included a 2” grind, installing 2,150 tons of ARHM overlay, and 300 tons of ¾ - inch thick leveling course prior to the ARHM overlay. The project included replacing 200 LF of curb and gutter, replacing 560 SF of sidewalk, upgrading 7 wheelchair ramps to meet ADA standards, constructing 7 curb access ramps, adjusting manhole covers, water valve boxes, and traffic pull boxes, installing a new pedestrian push button post, and installing 42 traffic loop detectors. Furthermore, the project also required traffic striping, legends, and traffic control. The south side of the street belonged to various other agencies and was not included in the scope. OE coordinated with the City of Norwalk and ensured the contractor pulled permits for the added work at the intersection.
